Klein Tools UK have announced the expansion of their Renewable Solutions range, a purpose-built collection of tools and equipment designed to support electricians and installers working across solar, battery storage and wider renewable energy installations.
The expanded range was shaped directly by feedback gathered on-site. Sam Horseman, Head of Product at Klein Tools, attended a hands-on training session delivered by A121 Academy, one of the industry's most respected solar training providers. A121 Academy was founded by Mark Allison of Power Sonic, whose background spans inspection and testing, EV charge point installation, and solar and battery storage systems.
During the session, Sam Horseman worked alongside some of the country's most experienced solar installers, covering core practical skills including the making-off of MC4 connectors and safe working practices on pitched roofs. The training also highlighted the demanding conditions installers regularly face on-site, including strong winds, heavy rain and extreme heat.
"Spending the day working alongside installers who do this every single day was a real eye-opener," said Sam Horseman. "You quickly see that a solar installation isn't just about the electrical connections - it's roofing, fixings, cable runs, testing, and staying safe and comfortable while doing it all, whatever the weather throws at you. That's what pushed us to think bigger about the range."
The insights gathered during the training directly informed the development of Klein Tools' expanded Renewable Solutions range, which brings together products from Klein Tools, Ergodyne and Super Rod.
The range covers the full scope of a renewable installation along with the tools required for efficient operations on the roof, including MC4 connector tools, insulating wrenches, roofing hammers and pry bars, cable management and pulling solutions, data installation tools, and worker’s safety items designed for comfort and safety in variable weather conditions.
New Kit (coming soon!): KTSTK19 Pro Solar Installation Tool Kit
As part of the expanded range, Klein Tools will shortly release the KTSTK19 Pro Solar Installation Tool Kit, a 19-piece kit developed to equip installers with everything required to complete a quality solar installation. The kit reflects the practical, on-the-job insights gathered through Klein Tools' engagement with A121 Academy and its installer network.
